‘It sums him up perfectly’: Touching picture of Northampton murder victim caught on Google Streetview camera

A recent Google Streetview image of Northampton murder victim David Brickwood leaning over his garden wall to chat to a passer-by “sums up” what he was like, friends and neighbours have said.

The image taken in July this year, which was posted on a Facebook group set up in memory of Mr Brickwood, shows the 74-year-old in the garden of his house in Lindsay Avenue, Abington.

Sally Marshall, who posted the image, said: “We knew Dave for many years at work, but suspect this is how many of you remember him.”

Glyniss Whitlock said: “Ah beautiful, and exactly how I will remember Dave always out for a chat.xx”

Kaz Steele said: “I love this photo of Dave. You couldn’t get a more natural and accurate photo. Sums up my memory of him to a tee. Xxxx”

Viv Dixon said: “He used to shout ‘ello darlin!’ to me and we’d wave at each other always have a great big smile for me. saw him often. will miss him greatly lovely man xxx”

Police are continuing to investigate Mr Brickwood’s murder. No arrests have yet been made in the investigation, which involves 45 officers from the regional major crime unit.

Anyone who was in the Lindsay Avenue area in the early hours of Saturday morning who saw or heard anything unusual is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
