Investigation into allegations over test results at primary school near Kettering

Northamptonshire County Council has confirmed it is working with the Standards and Testing Agency (STA) to investigate allegations relating to Key Stage 2 results at Isham Primary School.

It is understood that letters were sent home to parents this week, which referred to an investigation by the STA in conjunction with the county council about the Sats results.

A Northamptonshire County Council spokesman said: “We are currently working with the Standards and Testing Agency to investigate allegations relating to Key Stage 2 test results at Isham Primary School.

“While the test results are being investigated, parents should be reassured that teacher assessment information collated throughout Year 6 is being shared with their child’s prospective secondary school to ensure their academic levels are recorded and understood.”

A statement issued by the school’s governing body said: “The STA has investigated an allegation of maladministration of Key Stage 2 Sats.

“The outcome of this investigation is that 2016 Key Stage 2 Sats results for Isham CEVA Primary School have been annulled.

“Governors, parents, local authority, diocese and pupils have been informed of this decision and we are very saddened by this news on many levels.

“Whilst the governing body awaits the full report from the STA, no further information will be provided.

“Updates will be shared in due course.”

The Northants Telegraph has also asked the STA for a comment on the investigation.

According to the school’s most recent Ofsted report, in which it was rated as outstanding in March 2015, Isham Primary School has 104 pupils on its school roll aged four to 11.
