Injured cyclist from Northampton wants to find Good Samaritan to return his coat

A woman from Northampton who had a cycling accident wants to track down a man who lent her his jacket.

Charlotte Avil, aged 25, of Harlestone Road, was riding her bike near Smiths Farm Shop in Chapel Brampton when she clipped the kerb and was catapulted over the handle bars.

As she lay injured, several people stopped to help her, but one man in particular gave her a blanket and lent her his jacket to keep warm.

He gave her his telephone number on a piece of paper to return the items before leaving the scene, but Charlotte has since mislaid it.

Charlotte’s mum, Suzanne, said: “She was in shock at the time so it was a really nice thing to do.

“She now feels really bad for losing the number and keeps saying to me ‘what’s he going to think?’

“She’s desperate to contact him to give his things back and just say thank you, really.”

Charlotte suffered a suspected broken shoulder and lots of cuts.

The mystery man was not the only one to help after the accident, which happened on the afternoon of Monday, May 2.

A married couple took her bike back to her house and another driver took her to Northampton General Hospital.

If you are the Good Samaritan who helped Charlotte, or know them, you can call Northampton 467033.
