‘High standards’ maintained at Kingsthorpe College on GCSE results day

Some subjects saw a 100 per cent GCSE pass rate at Kingsthorpe College today, as the school kept its “high expectations and standards.”

A total of 56 per cent of students gained the five A*-C pass grades, with the top results coming in art, drama, information communications technology, physical education and photography.

The school gave a special mention to Joe Morris, who excelled with six A*’s, three As, a B and a C.

Ellie Morgan achieved three A*s, six As, a B and a C; Lauren Byrne achieved two A*’s, six As, 2Bs and a C and Chloe Allen got two A*s, five As, three Bs and a C.

Principal Debbie Morrison, said: “The changing national agenda makes it harder and harder for students to achieve what they need to progress to post 16, but fortunately Kingsthorpe College students have been successful again this year and we look forward to seeing many of them back in our sixth form.”
