A woman in her 60s was sexually assaulted by a man as she walked along a residential street in Northampton.
The incident happened on Thursday, June 2, between 10.30am and 11.45am.
The victim was walking along Lowlands Close towards Rectory Farm Road when she became aware of a man walking close behind her.
He passed her and stopped apparently to tie a shoelace. They then passed each other again a couple of times and she lost sight of him.
Then someone grabbed her from behind and touched her inappropriately.
The woman screamed and the offender ran off along Lowlands Close.
The man is described as white, aged 20 to 30, about 5ft 8 inches tall, with a “chunky build,” police say.
He was wearing a yellow T-shirt and dark shorts, and was carrying a hessian shopping bag. He had short black hair.
Witnesses to the incident or anyone with any information about it, are asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101. Alternatively, they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
