Forty-eight pathologists working for Northampton General Hospital have voted in favour of strike action over plans that would see each potentially earn £6,000 a year less, a union has said.

Unite claims the staff, some with upto 40 years’ experience, face losing out when unsocial hours payments are cut.

And it comes at a time, Unite says, when NGH is spending almost £1 million on eight agency biomedical scientists.
