Half of the people tested at a diabetes roadshow in Northampton were found to be at risk of developing the condition.
The roadshow, which was organised by Diabetes UK and Bupa, tested 259 people. One hundred and thirty were found to be at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. They were referred to their doctor for further tests and support
A spokesman said: “Getting diagnosed early, or being recognised as high or moderate risk, means that people have the opportunity to make healthy lifestyle choices which can help them avoid serious health problems, according to the charity.
