A campaign to encourage more mums to breastfeed has been launched by NHS Northamptonshire to mark World Breastfeeding Week.
Diana Mair, infant feeding lead for Health Visiting, from the Breastfeeding Support Service at Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT), said: “We all know breastfeeding is the healthiest and natural way to feed your baby but not everyone finds it easy. We want mums to know they are not alone.
“We run drop-in sessions across the county where you can to get practical help and encouragement from our support team and talk with other mums to share experiences. Our friendly knowledgeable team can also provide additional 1:1 specialist support at home for those who may need it.
“We are here to support you and help you find what is best for you and your baby.”
Breastfeeding Drop-In Sessions take place across the county with specialist sessions at the Royal & Derngate Theatre in Northampton every Monday (except bank Holidays) from 10am to noon and at Penrith Drive Children’s Centre Wellingborough every Tuesday from 1.30pm to 3pm.
