A Cobblers player has claimed Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic 'talked like the Terminator' during the EFL Cup clash at Sixfields.

Northampton Town centre-back Gabriel Zakuani was charged with marking the Swedish superstar on Tuesday night and has revealed he was a huge influence on the Man Utd team.

Talking to the BBC World Service, Zakuani said: “He talks a lot on the pitch, but he talks a bit like a robot, kind of like Terminator.

“It’s sort of in slow motion. You can see his influence on their team. He’ll tell a few of the players that are rushing past him to just calm down and relax on the ball.

The Cobblers were beaten 3-1 on the night, with Man Utd scoring two goals after they bought on Ibrahimovic in the 55th minute.
