A further appeal for information about the murder of David Brickwood in Northampton on Crimewatch received a ‘good response’, according to police.

A reconstruction of the murder of Northampton pensioner David Brickwood was aired on BBC1’s Crimewatch programme last night (Monday).

Mr Brickwood, aged 74, died after he was the victim of a violent assault in his home in Lindsay Avenue, Abington, at 2am on Saturday, September 26.

Nobody has been charged in relation to Mr Brickwood’s death.

THE officer leading the investigation into the murder case has said there has been a good response following last night’s appeal.

Detective Chief Inspector Mick Graham, said: “We have received a good response following our appeal yesterday. We have a number of leads that we will pursue to establish if any significant detail has come to light.

“While we will be progressing these enquiries, I strongly believe that there are still people out there who have vital information, and we need them to come forward.

“If they are worried about not having come forward before, I would encourage them to think about David’s family and what they have had to go through. They can call us on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
