Girl, aged 2, knocked down outside Northampton primary school

A girl was taken to hospital by ambulance after a car accident in Northampton.

Police said the accident happened at about 3.15pm yesterday in Streatfield Road, Spencer, near Earl Spencer Primary School.

A spokeswoman said both the girl, who was two-years-old, and her mum were injured in a collision involving a Ford Focus car.

A medic in an ambulance service fast response vehicle got to the scene seven minutes after being called and treated the girl at the scene for half an hour.

It is understood she received minor injuries and was taken to Northampton General Hospital as a precaution.
