Gang of men hit man on the back of the head and demanded money during street attack in Northampton

A 55-year-old man was taken to hospital after he was attacked in a Northampton street by a gang of men.

The man was walking along St Andrew’s Road, towards Grafton Street, when he was hit on the back of the head.

He was then set upon by a group of five men who demanded money from him.

He managed to break free but was left with cuts above his nose and eyelid which needed treatment at Northampton General Hospital.

The attack happened sometime between 9.30pm and 9.45pm on Tuesday, August 4.

The men were all white and aged between 19 and 21.They were all between 5ft 10in and 6ft and wore dark black or grey clothes.
