Gang left pubgoer needing hospital treatment in Northampton after beating him with blunt weapon

A gang violently beat a man with a stick-like object as he walked home through a Northampton park in the early hours.

The victim was with three friends near the basketball court in the Racecourse park between 3am and 3.55am on Friday (June 25) when he was set upon by a group of four white men.

The 32-year-old victim had been on a night out.

One of the gang hit him with a “stick-like” object, police say, causing serious leg injuries that left the man requiring hospital treatment.

Officers would like to speak to anyone witnessed the incident, or who may have information regarding it.
