More meetings are needed between potential Cobblers buyer Kelvin Thomas and Northampton Borough Council as both sides look to strike a deal over the £10.25 million loan repayment.
The former Oxford United chairman, who is the frontman of a consortium looking at buying Northampton Town, had previously agreed to buy the club and resume the work to the East Stand if he could be given some leeway on repaying the League Tow side’s debt to the council.
However it appears a “lengthy” meeting between the two parties yesterday did not result in an agreement being reached.
A borough council spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that we have met with Kelvin Thomas on Tuesday. We had lengthy and open discussions and we will meet again.”
It is not known when the two parties are next due to meet.
