Attractions included a tombola, a raffle, bric-a-brac, nail painting, a cake stall and a hook-a-duck competition.

All the money raised will be given to the family of Carole Maxwell, aged 42, of Ecton Brook who was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer earlier this year.

Mrs Green said: “It was a really great event and everybody was really overwhelmed with how much we raised.

“We are going to give all the money to Carole’s family so they can use it as they wish.”
