NHS Northamptonshire is ‘spreading the warmth’ at events around the county by giving advice and practical tips on how to keep warm as part of their ‘Wrapped Up’ campaign.
The outreach team will be giving out winter packs to those who may be vulnerable to the cold or know someone who may need help.
Winter packs include carbon monoxide detectors, thermometers, a practical checklist to ensure you or someone you care about is warm this winter and useful services information.
The campaign encourages people to ensure that vulnerable neighbours, friends and relatives in high risk groups are looked out for this winter.
The outreach workers will be at the following venues and locations:
28/01/2013 12-4pm ASDA, Northampton
29/01/2013 11-3pm Daventry Market, Daventry
30/01/2013 12-4pm Kettering High Street, Kettering
31/01/2013 12-4pm Sainsbury’s, Wellingborough
01/02/2013 12-4pm Market Square, Northampton
02/02/2013 12-4pm Towcester Co-Op, Towcester
Wrapped Up is a campaign by NHS Northamptonshire Public Health, Northamptonshire County Council, Age UK Northamptonshire, Nene Valley Community Action and Northamptonshire Community Foundation.
The aim of the campaign is to help vulnerable people, for example older people or those with long term health conditions, to keep warm and safe and prevent people needing to go to hospital during the winter months.
