St Andrew’s Healthcare therapy clinics are offering free anxiety screening checks this afternoon (Wednesday).
As part of national mental health awareness week, the mental healthcare hospital is this year focussing on promoting ways to reduce anxiety in everyday life.
Information released by St Andrew’s shows that the anxiety cases are growing, with one in four people experiencing a related mental health problem in the UK.
This, the report says, would equate to 67,000 people affected in Northamptonshire alone.
Consultant Psychologist Sam Cooper-Evans said: “Anxiety is something that everyone experiences but it can develop into something more serious that has a big impact on the quality of life. Most of us can benefit from techniques that manage these but in some cases anxiety can be incapacitating. Getting diagnosed and treatment can help people to understand, control and manage their anxiety.”
Screenings, consultations on symptoms - including sleeping difficulties, mood swings or low self-esteem - and anxiety management taster sessions are available to adults only and can be booked by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with your full contact details.
