Two ewes and two lambs were stolen from a barn in Northamptonshire last night in the latest in a series of farm animal thefts in the county.

The animals are believed to have been stolen at some point between midnight and 4am on Tuesday, February 16, from a farm at Church Road, Little Houghton.

Police say they were dragged across the field and onto the Bedford Road, on entering the village, where there may have been a vehicle waiting.

The theft comes less than 25 hours after a lamb was slaughtered and its carcass taken form a field in Silverstone.
