Plans have been submitted to convert the building into six, one bedroom flats with a restaurant on the ground floor.

The Black Cat Jazz Bar in Sheep Street closed in 2008.

Plans have also been put forward to increase the roof height and replace the existing windors with dormers.

Since its closure, the landmark purple building has deteriorated, and residents have previously claimed that the structure is now an eyesore.

It was once well known as the 101 Club and the ground floor of the building was also a bookmakers for a time.

As The Black Cat, the club was part of the Purplehaus group of venues, which at the time also included the Roadmender and the Soundhaus.
