Firefighters called to Northampton street after flames reported in '˜garages'

Firefighters were called out to tackle flames in a set of garages in Northampton last night.

Three sets of crews from stations in the Mounts, Moulton and Mereway were called to Oliver Street in Kingsley just before 11pm last night, after a 999 call from a member of the public.

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue says flames were coming from a “brick building used as a garage or storage.”

Firefighters tackled the flames using breathing gear, leaving the scene shortly after midnight.

This morning the garage roof looks to have been largely destroyed.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but no one was hurt in the incident.
