Teenager finds bat in bra after five hours
A teenager spoke of her shock after finding a bat curled up in the bra she had been wearing for five hours.
Abbie Hawkins, 19, of Norwich, initially thought it was her mobile phone causing movement in her clothing.
But when she investigated, she found the stowaway creature, hidden in the padding pocket of her 34FF black bra.
TOP SHED
An octagonal garden building complete with bar has been named Britain's Shed of the Year.
Judges opted for a shed created by Tim McNeill in Sudbury, Suffolk, who dubbed his creation "The Rugby Pub".
The shed comes with a fully-fitted bar, three fridges and is furnished with a matted floor and hammock.
CCTV FOR OINK
A water buffalo was set up with its own CCTV system after being targeted by thugs.
Oink was once so attached to life in his field in Derby that the 15-year-old refused to leave and live at an animal sanctuary.
But worried owner Katherine Moore said the 1.5-tonne animal now dreads venturing out of its shed, a converted railway storage unit, after a mean-spirited series of attacks. Now Oink is being monitored on CCTV.
CLIP-TOGETHER HOUSE
An artist will build a clip-together home in just 10 days to criticise "boring" modern housing.
Wolfgang Weileder, professor of contemporary sculpture at Newcastle University, will build an exact replica of a Georgian terrace house on land nearby in Sunderland's historic Sunniside area.
The replica will be built using a continental technique where blocks click together like Lego, without using cement.
ARMS STUDY
Animal experts are launching a study in an attempt to find out whether the octopus favours a particular arm when feeding.
Staff at Sea Life aquarium will study octopi for a month to try to discover more about the way the creatures eat and investigate.
A spokesman for the Sea Life Centre at Hunstanton, Norfolk, said the centre was one of more than 20 Sea Life attractions across Europe taking part in the experiment.
TEA AND ROBBERY
A Japanese woman and her six-month-old baby safely escaped from an armed robber with a cup of tea and a chat.
Police said a man pulled a knife on the 30-year-old housewife in the hallway outside her Tokyo apartment, forcing his way into her home and demanding money.
She served tea instead of screaming, with the robber putting the knife away and telling his story. The woman put a 10,000 yen (47) note in a wallet on the table, grabbed her daughter and ran out the door to call police. When she returned, the man had disappeared with the money.
