Shortlist revealed for Film Northants competition
The shortlist of films for the Film Northants title has been revealed.
Following months of story boarding, filming and editing, a deluge of films rolled into the Chronicle & Echo to enter the first ever film competition.
The judges then viewed hours of footage and drew up a shortlist of eight finalists from the 30 entries.
It was a tough process to narrow it down and half a dozen other entries almost made the shortlist.
The judges (University of Northampton film lecturer Tim Coley, Vue cinema manager John Tredrea, Chron features editor Lily Canter) were looking for films with a good central idea that came across well inside a complete package.
Lily explained: "There were some films which were visually strong but the music just did not work and therefore could not be counted as a well rounded film. Some had good concepts but were too long in length.
"However overall we were impressed with the quality of all the entries and even though it sounds a cliche it was incredibly hard drawing up a shortlist. I would like to congratulate everyone who took part and thank them for sharing their work with the public via our website."
