TOWCESTRIANS

Match one: Lost 14-0 to Old Scouts

Report: Both sides opened strongly, and Towcester defended well against a strong Old Scouts side, both side's efforts cancelling each other out, so that there were no points on the scoreboard at the interval. Report: Old Scouts had their first competitive match since October 12 with one squad taken for a match that was played in four quarters rather than two halves. Throughout the game, Scouts' forwards showed their strengths both in the scrums and in the line-outs, many of which were won on Tows' put-ins. But Towcester's pressure took its toll with Andrew Hakes being injured in the final quarter and they clinched victory by five points.

LONG BUCKBY

Match one: Lost 25-0 to Bedford

Report: A sluggish start by Buckby, in which they conceded three quick tries, ensured this was always going to be an uphill battle. Newcomer Chris Green made his debut and Max Bacon put in an excellent tackling display at full-back.

Match two: Beat ONs 10-5

Nottingham extended their lead with two penalties and a try in the corner from a short-range penalty.
