WOOTTON ST GEORGE

Lost 3-0 to Sunnyside Warriors

Team: Ivan Schuttle 7, Bradley Smith 7, Kieron Garlick 8, Joshua Bengoechea 7, Alex Worley 7, Ryan Hopkins 7, Matthew Lane 7, Jordan Crawford 7, Robert Garibaldi 7, Jason Gorton 7, Adrian Yates 7, Parise Haynes 7, John Furniss 7, Rupert Edwards 7, Adam Boyle 7

MOM: Kieron Garlick

Report: In a fairly contested game WSG had an unfortunate start to the game going down in the first minute to a highly charged Sunnyside. However WSG managed to weather the early onslaught and looked more comfortable in their line-up. In the second half although WSG had a lot more possession they couldn't convert their chances and Sunnyside ran out winners. A special word of praise for the defence as they were under immense pressure for some periods. Well done both teams.

BUGBROOKE ST MICHAELS

Beat Moulton Magpies 2-0

Scorer: Liam Saunders 2

Team: Samson Palmer, Daniel Wakelin, Harley Towers, Jack Vacher, Jack Lee, Aaron Steer, Ban Taylor, Ben Sharp, Karl O'Brien, Liam Saunders, Jacob Ellis, Tom Spring, Daniel Doherty, James Graham, Tom Wright

Report: Another close game between two well matched teams. Both teams passed the ball well and created chances but Bugbrooke started to get the upper hand and push Magpies back as the half progressed. Saunders slotted home with his left foot to open the scoring and added a second late in the half. A neat through ball cut the Magpies defence apart for Liam to beat the keeper off the inside of the post. Both keepers played particularly well to keep the second half goalless. Well done to Moulton for battling performance and to Bugbrooke for a good team effort.

Team: Jack Mousley, Philip Emery, Fran Glover, Kyle Kalym, Robert Ryves, Josh Bellamy, Chris Swallow, Jake Sumpter, Lee Redfern, Mayles Eagle, Karl Shingler, Matthew Goodrich, Jamie Reeves, Geddy Moss, Russell Weaving, Frankie Gillett

In the second half, Karl Shingler managed to beat the Braunston keeper to the ball to score the first goal and then touched home Fran Glover's header for the second. Shingler then turned provider when he got behind the Braunston defence and whipped in a cross for Chris Swallow to score. An excellent squad effort to secure the win.

Thomas Geraghty completed his hat-trick followed by a well deserved Ashley Gardiner goal. Josh Turner then added two more to complete a fine hat-trick before Thomas Geraghty coolly added his fourth. Credit to Spinney Hill Colts who never gave in. A clean sheet for Danny Reynolds well played.

Report: A creditable Eagles in the first half had Magpies worried but for two late first half goals making it 3-0 at half-time. A half-time roasting seemed to do the trick and after the fourth goal Moulton were easily on top. Eagles heads went down and it became a goal feast for Moulton. The most notable goal was Danny Raymond's individual effort beating seven players before slotting home. Remember Maradona! Other goals came from D Raymond (5), Selling (4), Blundell (3), M Raymond (2) and Harnden.

BILLING UNITED

Lost 7-0 to Soccer Stars

Team: Keval Patel, Liam Addis, Howard Johnson, Sean Bird, Harrison Joseph, Sam Ducker, Joseph Bomben, Paul Kelk, Tony Hewitt, Daniel Smith, Steve Abrahams, Lewis McMahon

MOM: Keval Patel, Howard Johnson

Report: Billing were overwhelmed by a good Soccer Stars team. Billing's cause was not helped by last minute changes through unavailability. Stars played the type of football that Billing's training sessions emphasise on and they were shown a lesson on how to do it. Only the heroics of Howard, Sean and Keval kept the score down. To Billing's credit they never gave up and hopefully they will learn from this game.

Team: Javob Holt, Ellis Stockport, Alex Holmes, Dean Clarke, Jack Hogg, Dean Morgan, Nial Duffy, Lloyd Adams, Aaron Linnell, Marcus Abell, Reece Shields, Myles Jordan, Jack Faulkner

With good passing and aggressive tackling, Stars piled on the pressure, with good shots on target by all the forwards and midfield; Marcus Abell scoring two, Aaron Linnel, Nial Duffy three and Reece Shields. To their credit Billilng United made a game of it requiring goods clearances from the defence particularly Dean Clarke and Lloyd Adams. Billing's MOM was definitely Keval in goal, without him the score may well have been higher.

BLISWORTH

Lost 3-0 to Wootton Fields

Team: James Brown, Luke Birch, Christopher Boddy, Sam Deakins, Adam Joel, Sam Harris, Adam Husbands, Adam Newcombe, Peyton Sterling, Ashley Butler, BenGowen, Kyle Stewart, Ollie Anderson

MOM: James Brown

Report: Blisworth's defence found they had to do the majority of the work in the first half with constant attack and a strong front line and were unlucky to go to the break only 1-0 down. The second half continued much the same, but with Blisworth getting a bit more of the play, a gritty performance in midfield from captain Adam Husbands and a first class game from Blisworth MOM goalkeeper James Brown, still could not prevent Wootton going through to the next round as 3-0 winners. Well played both teams.

SOCCER STARS

Beat Towcester Juniors 8-5

Scorers: Bates 5, Scally, Revine, Wells

Team: Jamie Mundy 7, Levi Crew 7, Dean Lukeman 7, Dale Brickwood 7, Lewis Reynolds 7, Liam Grisley 7, Lewis Leslie 7, Matty Revine 7, Jack Scally 7, Perry Wells 7, Matteus Bates 7, Neil Preston 7.

MOM: Matteus Bates

Report: On a dry day in sunny Towcester it rained goals in a game that would have Alan Hansen having nightmares as both defences decided to have a day off. The league's top scorer Matt Bates was the main beneficiary for Soccer Stars as he helped himself to a hat-trick within the first 10 minutes. Towcester though fought their way back into the game and were only behind by a single goal at the interval. Two early goals in the second period by Jack Scally and Bates seemed to wrap up the points for Stars but the never say die attitude of Towcester, on their postage stamp of a pitch, ensured that the entertainment was not over. The sides then shared six goals between them in the final 15 minutes as Matt Revine, Bates and, at long last, Perry Wells managed to find the net for Stars. Two individual displays worthy of a mention were Stars midfield maestro Lewis Leslie and Towcester's keeper who produced heroics in the home goal to keep the score down. A fine advert for attacking football as the 8-5 score line suggests the crowd left certainly getting value for money.

Referee: Darren Kirby 7

MILTON MAGICIANS

Drew with Blisworth Youth 3-3

Scorers: Sean Nicholson, Ben Bridle 2

Team: Jon Smith, Alex Wall, Alec Farlow, Tom Nicholson, Seb Bridle, Ben

Carter, Kieran Lane, Ben Bridle, Oliver Judge, James Mitchell, Sean

Nicholson, Aaron McFaull, Clarke Parkinson

MOM: Aaron McFaull

Report: Milton took an early lead through Sean Nicholson then made and missed some good chances before Blisworth hit with two quick goals. In both cases Milton failed to clear their area and Blisworth finished well. In the second half Milton made changes and pushed hard with McFaull playing well. More chances were created but it was Blisworth who scored well from a corner. Milton kept pushing forward with Ben Bridle scoring twice to draw the teams level just before the end in a competitive match. The pace of Mitchell was again a threat, Lane covered a lot of ground on his return into the team and captain for the day, Farlow competed well at full back. Smith had another sound game in the Milton goal. Well played to both teams in another close encounter between the local rivals.

Opponents Goalkeeper: Karsten Webb
