Little Harrowden

Little Harrowden Primary School has appealed to the public to make their wishes come true by helping them to win a share of a £30,000 jackpot.

The school, in School Lane, is hoping to secure 1,750 for three schemes which will benefit the 194 children at the school.

Children from year four have asked for 500 towards a new trim trail climbing frame for the school's new playground, pupils from year three would like 500 to create a new wildlife area and pupils in year one want 750 to buy large print books for a little boy in their class who is partially sighted.

Teaching assistant Lorna Brown said: "These wishes are very special because they have come from the children themselves.

"They have done a lot of research to find out about which would be the best climbing frame for the school and where would be the best location for a new wildlife area.

"The large print books would also really help one of our year one students but, because they are so expensive, they would wipe out our entire library budget for the next year.

"Everyone is absolutely thrilled the school has been shortlisted and we would love it if we won."
