League One round-up: 10-man Dons triumph despite penalty miss
MK Dons claimed a 3-1 victory over Cheltenham despite missing a penalty and playing for an hour with 10 men.
Ali Gerba put the hosts ahead before Cheltenham got back on level terms through Gavin Caines.
MK Dons were then reduced to 10 men when goalkeeper Willy Gueret was given a straight red card for violent conduct.
The hosts missed a penalty when Peter Leven's shot was tipped over by Scott P Brown in the Robins' goal.
However, they were awarded a second spot-kick in the second half and Sam Baldock sent the keeper the wrong way before Gerba put the Dons further ahead.
Lloyd Owusu was then sent off for the Robins for his second bookable offence with the visitors dropping into the bottom four.
Scunthorpe remain top of the table despite a nervous finale in their top-of-the-table clash with Millwall at Glanford Park.
The Iron appeared to be in complete control, Gary Hooper giving them an early lead.
They doubled their lead with Paul Hayes converting a penalty after a handball by Zak Whitbread.
Hooper combined again with Hayes and the ball broke to Matthew Sparrow who converted emphatically from the edge of the area to put the hosts 3-0 up.
However, Millwall hit back through Neil Harris' volley with half an hour to go. Millwall then reduced the deficit to just one goal with Tony Craig drilling the ball into the net but could not find a leveller.
Leicester, who started the day in third, failed to cut the gap as they could only manage a 0-0 draw at home to Northampton.
As a result, they were leapfrogged by Leeds who had an emphatic 3-0 win over Walsall at Elland Road.
Luciano Becchio put them ahead just after half-time before a double by Fabian Delph, including a 25-yard strike, sealed victory.
Oldham went down to a 2-0 defeat at Swindon - thanks to first-half goals through Sean Morrison and Jack Smith's penalty.
It saw the Latics drop out of the play-off places to be replaced by Dons and Peterborough, who had a thumping 4-0 win over Huddersfield thanks to goals from Aaron McLean (two), George Boyd and Chris Whelpdale.
Terriers defender Chris Lucketti was dismissed in the final minute for a professional foul.
Southend were the victims of a superb individual performance as Rickie Lambert scored all the home side's goals in Bristol Rovers' 4-2 win over the Shrimpers.
Lambert scored a 23-minute first-half hat-trick before rounding off his day with a 55th-minute header.
Southend pulled two goals back through Peter Clarke and Francis Laurent but victory was Rovers'.
Colchester thumped Carlisle 5-0 thanks to goals through David Perkins, Mark Yeates (two), Dean Hammond and Akanni-Sunday Wasiu.
Kevin Kyle's goal was enough to see Hartlepool claim a 1-0 win over Brighton.
Hereford conceded a last-minute goal to Tommy Rowe as Stockport turned the screw at Edgar Street with a 1-0 victory.
It leaves the hosts second from bottom and County one point off the play-offs.
Yeovil clawed their way out of the drop zone thanks to a 0-0 draw with fellow strugglers Leyton Orient.
