Kickboxing: Chantelle defeats Irish champion

Northampton teenager Chantelle Cameron is lined up for a rematch after winning the Irish title in a five-nation International Kickboxing Federation competition.

The 17-year-old, who normally fights under Thai boxing rules, took up the challenge with just four weeks to prepare with coach Tyrone Power at the Martial Arts School in Lorne Road, Northampton.

Cameron switched to full contact kickboxing and gave an excellent account of herself to beat Irish No.1 Donna Larkin in Galway.

A rematch will be held in February in Kent, when the pair will fight five two-minute rounds.
