Junior Rugby: Lacklustre Scouts lose way at Forest

Scouts didn't appear to be up for this game following last week's EDF fifth round win – and some feared the referee wasn't either as he only turned up with 15 minutes to go before kick off!

The state of the pitch meant it was like playing in porridge and plenty of unforced errors by Scouts saw the home side 15-8 up at half time.

Scouts' scorers were Tom Major with a try and James Nimmo with a penalty.

Scouts had all the play in the second half but could only manage a Toby Chambers try while Forest scored a penalty in probably their only attack of the second period.

But Scouts have only themselves to blame for not winning this one.

The Rushmere Road side are now gearing up for a big fortnight, as

they entertain second-placed Stewarts & Lloyds in the league this Saturday before the EDF last 16 fixture at home to Percy Park the following week.

Scouts IIs were beaten 24-14 by Wellingborough IIs while the IIIs lost 27-8 at Bedford Athletic with their try coming from Ross Dwyer.

Vauxhall Motors 6 Bugbrooke 66

Bugbrooke enjoyed a romp in the winter sunshine as they thrashed Vauxhall Motors 66-6 in the league. The Badgers IIs were also comprehensive winners, seeing off Long Buckby 29-77.
