Germ-free water for fourth day in row

Water free from cryptosporidium is being produced at Pitsford Water Treatment Works for the fourth day in a row.

The boil notice will remain in place while the water distribution network is flushed and treated but Anglian Water said it had made good progress and was on target to lift the boil notice for more than 60 per cent of its customers by the end of the week.

Its previous target was 50 per cent.
