A senior lecturer at the University of Northampton is set to feature in an ITV documentary about the poor conditions endured by Victorian prisoners.
Dr Drew Gray, senior lecturer in the history of crime, will feature in the ITV1 series Secrets of the Clink, which will also feature Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman.
Dr Gray will be assisting Mr Goodman to examine the sad life of his great-great grandfather who was assaulted by his own son, who in turn was sentenced to hard labour.
Dr Gray said: “Len was brilliant to work with, very interested in his family history, and good company. I didn’t dare show him my dance moves though, I’m best sticking to history.”
The first episode of the two-part series will air on Wednesday August 6 at 9pm on ITV1, and episode two featuring Dr Gray will air on Wednesday, August 13 at the same time.
