The newly refurbished library at a Northampton secondary school has received a national award for its design.
The Hub, at The Duston School, has been given a 2012 National Schools Library Design Award, which recognises its layout, the activities that take place within it, as well as the impact it has on teaching and learning.
Julie Ricketts, business education co-ordinator at the school, said: “Since our library space received its make-over just under a year ago, the number of students using the space has increased dramatically.
“We now see over 3,000 students visiting The Hub every week.
“We are extremely proud of The Hub and all the activities that go on within and to win this prestigious national award gives recognition to all the hard work that was put in by staff, not only with the new design but also the ongoing support that is offered to students.”
