Renowned graphic novelist and writer Alan Moore joined guest speakers at the University of Northampton on Saturday as part of a day of counterculture discussions.
Joining the comic book creator were spoken word poet, musician and podcast presenter Scroobius Pip, comedians including Robin Ince, Josie Long and Francesca Martinez and writer John Higgs.
All took part in discussions and performances at the university’s Avenue campus.
The event was organised the university’s A Humanist Society with support of the student union.
President of the society, Arte Artemiou, said: “It was a great day and we had some fantastic speakers.
“We initially met with Alan and talked about the possibility of putting and event on and discussed topics like counterculture, democracy and anarchism. Alan then suggested an event that looked at countercultures.”
Mr Moore and Robin Ince helped curate the event with the assistance of Mr Artemiou and Yoshe Watson.
Following the daytime discussions, bands including 72% Morrissey, Trippahand Neumonics joined singer-songwriters Jen Dobson and Kenneth J Nash at the SU bar.
