County councillor for Brickhill and Queensway Liz Coombe welcomed the work by PCSO Burrows and posted about it on the Wellingborough Now and Then Facebook page.

She posted: “Remember it is a 20-mile limit and there are more children about during the holidays.

“Thank you to our PCSO Chris Burrows and the cadets for this.”

Since posting about the operation on Facebook, Cllr Coombe said she had received positive feedback about it, with residents welcoming the operation and saying they would like to see more speedwatch work carried out in and around the town.

Cllr Coombe said: “I think residents generally appreciate that in town the 20-mile limit is there for a reason and understand the rationale.

“I shall be passing those messages back to the police and encouraging more speedwatch in the near future.”
