A disabled Kettering man has criticised a popular fast food chain after he was not allowed to use its drive-thru on his motorised trike.

John Joseph Campbell struggles to walk and uses his three-wheeled vehicle to get around the town.

Fancying a lunchtime snack, he went to the McDonald’s drive-thru in Northfield Avenue on Saturday (July 30).

But he was stunned to be turned away due to ‘company policy’.

He said: “It’s ridiculous. I’ve been there before and never had a problem.

“Motorbikes are allowed to use them so why can’t I?

“My trike is clearly marked as a disabled vehicle with a blue badge on the back.

“I complained but they said it was a policy and that they wouldn’t serve me.”

McDonald’s has been contacted for a response.
