The Department of Meat & Social Affairs in Bridge Street, Northampton, is celebrating its recent opening with an official launch party this Friday night.

The venue has been transformed from a bar and nightclub into a ‘comfort food’ restaurant specialising in top quality burgers, ribs and homemade ice creams.

General Manager Tino Pezzillo said: “It’s a modern day burger bar offering the ultimate comfort foods, served with a smile in a sociable and comfortable setting.

“We have been quietly open for a couple of weeks but now we want to spread the word that we’re up and running so we thought we’d throw a party to celebrate.”

The venue has been given a new look with an outside ping-pong table and BBQ area and a wall decorated with retro cassettes.

The menu features burgers with pulled pork, cheese or chorizo, beef short ribs, buffalo wings and a range of homemade ice creams, including cherry bakewell and pineapple and ginger flavours.
