Cynthia Spencer Hospice hits the jackpot with fund-raising lottery scheme

The total amount raised, which currently stands at £111,619 is all down to Cynthia Spencer supporters who play with Your Hospice Lottery each week, with every penny going towards local hospice care.

Cynthia Spencer teamed up with Your Hospice Lottery in March 2014, to bring its supporters the opportunity to support patients and their families who are living with life-limiting illnesses in Northampton and south Northamptonshire – as well as giving lottery members the exciting chance to win cash prizes.

Currently, more than 6,400 numbers are played in the lottery draw each week in support of Cynthia Spencer Hospice, with over £32,025 in cash prizes handed out to Cynthia Spencer supporters!

Cynthia Spencer provides hospice and palliative care services for south Northamptonshire and admits about 400 in-patients each year. Although mainly funded by the NHS, the hospice needs to raise an extra £704,000 this year through charitable donations and fundraising activities to help maintain the quality of its services.

Your Hospice Lottery is an easy and fun way of supporting Cynthia Spencer Hospice; it costs £1 per play a week, with over 111 weekly prizes to be won from £10 to £10,000.

John Helm, fundraising manager at Cynthia Spencer, said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that plays Your Hospice Lottery for Cynthia Spencer for the £111,000 that has been donated since our first lottery draw.

"It’s an absolutely fabulous amount of money, which put into context could have entirely funded the current extension to our hospice at home service, so thank you very much for playing.”
