Crowds gather to see Queen's beacon lit in Northampton
Northampton joined places around the country in lighting its commemorative beacon to mark the Queen's 90th birthday.
The beacon was lit by chairman of the county council, councillor Phil Larratt and HM Deputy Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire, Sir John Robinson at Wootton Community and Sports Centre,
It was one of 200 lit simultaneously throughout the UK on Thursday evening.

Hide AdThere were performances from the Cadet and Corp Drums and the Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust as well as from Wootton Primary Primary, Caroline Chisholm Primary and Preston Hedges Primary.
The first beacon was lit by the Queen.
