A wedding ring belonging to a 91-year-old man was stolen after two robbers broke into his house in Juniper Court, Rectory Farm.

The elderly man confronted the two men at 9pm on Thursday, December 5 but they refused to leave and searched his house, stealing various items, including a large gentleman’s wedding ring.

The robbers were both white men. One of the men is described as 5ft 5in to 5ft 8in, with an average build. He wore a black balaclava, black coat and blue jeans.

The second man was slightly smaller, with a slim build. He wore a black balaclava, black coat and black trousers/jeans.

Police believe this robbery may be linked to a burglary in nearby Lakeside Drive, which happened on the same day, between 12.30pm and 10.30pm. Offenders broke in through the patio door at the back of the house, however, nothing was stolen.
