Voyeur installed spy-cam in toilet

A TEENAGE girl was secretly filmed as part of a married man’s plan to spice up his sex life, a court heard.

Andrew Jamieson, aged 49, set up a covert camera in his bathroom but it was discovered by a teenager while using it on November 7, 2009.

Northampton Crown Court heard how the 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, spotted a strange reflection coming from a toilet bag and then noticed two small holes. When she looked inside the bag, she found an HD camera and removed the memory stick.

Stuart Yeung, prosecuting, said that when she later examined its contents on a laptop, she discovered it held six films involving her and one showing Jamieson in the process of putting the covert recording device in place.

The court heard that when Jamieson – who tried to claim it was a listening device – was arrested, he told officers he had placed the hidden camera there to spice up his sex life and that the girl had “inadvertently” activated the camera.

Jamieson, of West Street, Weedon, pleaded not guilty at a hearing in November to voyeurism and denied the footage was for sexual purposes.

But he returned to court yesterday to change his plea and pleaded guilty to the charge of voyeurism for sexual gratification.

Judge Richard Bray adjourned sentence for a report to be prepared and he released Jamieson on bail.
