Police have released CCTV footage in a bid to identify a man after £500 was stolen from a woman's bank account after her debit card was stolen in an Aldi car park in Northampton.

The victim had been shopping in the supermarket in Wellingborough Road and paid with her debit card.

She returned to her car and placed her handbag on the passenger seat. At this point she was approached by a man who asked her from directions to the hospital. He insisted she write down the directions.

The victim then drove off and later realised that her debit card was missing. She then discovered that £500 had been taken from her account on the day that the card went missing.

The CCTV footage shows a man wearing a high-vis waistcoat. Officers would like to trace this man as he may have vital information and are asking him to contact the police or for anyone who know him to call 101.
