Sarah Candy, aged 36, was arrested after her husband left his phone on record in their bedroom and filmed footage of her with the boy.

Northampton Crown Court heard Candy had told her husband of 19 years that she wanted to leave him in March this year.

Mary Prior, prosecuting, said Candy’s husband then became suspicious about her contact with a boy.

Mrs Prior said he decided to leave his phone on record in the bedroom when he went out.

The court heard that when he viewed the footage back he saw his wife kissing and cuddling the boy on the bed.

When he confronted his wife she said they were just ‘play fighting’.

However, the footage was passed on to the police and Candy was charged with sexual activity with a boy aged under 16. She pleaded guilty to this charge at the first opportunity in court.

Judge Lynn Tayton QC, sentencing, said there was a “clear sexual element” to the contact between Candy and the boy.

She said: “This is clearly a case that crosses the custody threshold.”

Candy, of Great Oakley, Corby, was jailed for a year. She is likely to serve half the sentence in custody before being released on licence.
