A tattooist raped a woman
after he had been invited to her home via Facebook, a court has heard.

Jamie Robinson, aged 23, of Tresham Green, Ryehill, has appeared before Northampton Magistrates’ Court charged with two allegations of sexual assault, including rape.

The court heard claims that Robinson had gone to the alleged victim’s home in Northampton on September 27 to tattoo her arm. When he had finished the work the woman went into her kitchen to wash her arm. The prosecution claims that when the woman returned Robinson had pulled down his trousers and allegedly asked her to look at a tattoo he said he had on his genitals.

The court heard the alleged victim told him it was time for him to leave and told him she was tired. The prosecution case is that he then pulled her towards him and attempted to kiss her, before going on to allegedly rape her.

Prosecuting, Julia Barnett, claimed the victim had made contact with Robinson via the social networking website Facebook. She said the woman’s child was also asleep upstairs.

The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, contacted the police three days later after telling friends. Robinson denies the charges.

No pleas were submitted. Robinson was denied bail and was then remanded into custody. He will appear at Northampton Crown Court later this month.
