Police have released an artist's impression of a man theyd like to speak to in connection with an attempted robbery which took place on Friday 14 February at about 7pm.

An artist’s impression of a man involved in an attempted robbery where a woman was threatened with a gun outside a Northamptonshire supermarket, has been released by police.

A woman had just got out of her car in the Tesco car park in Whitworth Way, Wellingborough, on Friday, February 14 at about 7pm when she was approached by two men wearing dark clothes and balaclavas, who tried to grab her car keys.

When she didn’t hand over the keys, one of the men threatened her with what appeared to be a gun.

At this point, the woman screamed and ran towards Tesco and the two men ran off in the direction of the nearby Pizza Hut restaurant in London Road.

The main offender was about 5ft 10in with broad shoulders and a gruff sounding voice. He was wearing a dark coloured coat.

The second man was wearing a silver or grey jacket.

Witnesses to this incident, or anyone who has any information, can call Northamptonshire Police on 101. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
