Police increase patrols after teenage girl offered lift to Northamptonshire village school by a ‘grubby’ man in a van

Extra police patrols have been carried out around a Northamptonshire school following reports of a man in a van trying to pick up a young girl.

At about 9.30 am on Monday, a teenage girl was walking towards Campion School in Bugbrooke when the driver of a silver van asked her if she wanted a lift.

The girl refused and the driver drove away.

The driver was white and between 40 and 45, with brown hair. He was wearing a black or blue top, had stubble and was described as ‘grubby looking’.

Following the report, officers have carried out extra patrols around the area.
