Police today said they were hunting two robbers who mugged a man in the Lumbertubs area of Northampton.

The victim was walking in Old Quarry Court when he was struck from behind causing him to fall to the ground at which point the thugs snatched his mobile phone and ran off.

The attack happened last Thursday between 10.30pm and 11pm. One offender was white, 5ft 7in, slim and wearing a black hoody with a Nike tick on its breast and black jogging bottoms with the Nike logo on the left thigh area.

The second offender was 5ft 10in, with a medium build. He was wearing a dark-coloured hoody with writing on its front, possibly white lettering, black jogging bottoms and multi-coloured high-top trainers.

Anyone with information can call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or, alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
