Pensioner seriously injured in Northampton road crash

A pensioner was left with seriously injuries after he was knocked over in Far Cotton this morning.

The 70-year-old man was walking along St Leonard’s Road, towards London Road, at 7.25am, when he stepped into the road and was knocked over by a grey Ford Fiesta.

Police say the Fiesta was being driven by a 21-year-old man.

The victim sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Northampton General Hospital for treatment. He has since been transferred to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this collision or who may have any information regarding.
