Two officers were injured after a chase along the A45 left a police car on its side in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The crash happened at around 4.30am on Saturday, on the A45, close to the Great Billing turn-off.
A police spokesman confirmed officers were responding to an incident and were following a white Fiat Punto along the road with the car’s blue lights on.
The Punto, which failed to stop, then collided with the police car, flipping the vehicle onto its side.
The crash left the police vehicle with “considerable damage”.
A 23-year-old man from Northampton was later arrested by police, while two police officers in the vehicle received minor injures.
A force spokesman said: “The Fiat Punto was stopped a short time later and man was arrested for assault and driving offences.”
