A 19-year-old man who admitted stabbing a man in the head and causing him ‘life-changing injuries’ has been jailed for 11-and-a-half years.
Daniel Martin, of Salisbury Road, Wellingborough, pleaded guilty to wounding and affray in relation to an offence in Albert Road, Wellingborough, in November last year.
The court heard a 28-year-old man was stabbed in the head, resulting in a serious brain injury and paralysis.
Detective Inspector Mark Pattison said: “This senseless assault has left a young man with life-changing injuries from which he is unlikely to recover. We are pleased with the verdict and the sentence given and hope it will serve as a reminder of the consequences of getting involved in violence.”
