An unsolved murder, which is still under investigation by Northamptonshire Police, is to appear on BBC’s Crimewatch tonight.
The brother of murdered nightclub boss David “Les” Ross, Niall Ross, along with Mr Ross’ friend, Mick Willey, will make a television appeal for help to find his killer.
The 39-year-old was found dead in the Village Express Hotel in The Jamb, Corby, on December 17. He died as a result of a blow to the head.
His brother said: “There’s no answers. There’s nothing. At the moment we know someone’s murdered him but that’s all we know.
“There’s no closure. We can’t put him to rest. It’s just so difficult.”
It is almost two months since Mr Ross was killed and, despite an intensive police investigation and a £5,000 Crimestoppers reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible, no-one has been charged with the crime.
Mr Ross had recently opened Rubix nightclub in Corporation Street with his business partner and was looking forward to the success of the new venture.
Mick Willey said: “He was one of those sorts of characters. Larger than life and a very, very kind man and you couldn’t help but like him.
“Everything on the horizon looked great for him.
“It was the happiest I’d ever seen him.
“He had achieved a dream, a point in his life where he could move forward and he saw the way he wanted to go.
“Suddenly it was all taken away from him by somebody. We don’t know who.”
Detective Chief Inspector Martin Kinchin will be appealing for information to a nationwide audience.
He said: “We are sure there are still people in Corby, or further afield, who may have vital information in helping us to establish who was responsible for the death of Mr Ross.
“We are grateful to everyone who has come forward so far. But if you regarded yourself as a close friend of Mr Ross and haven’t been in contact with any of the investigation officers, we would really like to speak to you.
“And if you saw Mr Ross at any time on the day of his death, December 17, or the weekend before, and again haven’t spoken to us, then please come forward now.
“We are also keen for any information about the property that was stolen from Mr Ross’s home on Friday, December 14, namely an iPhone, a Blackberry Playbook and a laptop computer.”
Assisting DCI Kinchin tonight will be two other officers from the East Midlands Major Crime Team, DC Graham Newitt and DC Tony Harman.
