A paedophile has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after being found guilty of 17 sexual offences against three children.
Jonathan Stanton, aged 49, of Glasgow Street, St James, Northampton, was found guilty after a trial at Northampton Crown Court of 17 offences. They included numerous indecent assaults, attempted rapes and sexual assaults of a child under 13 as well as gross indecency with a child under 13.
The offences were a mixture of historic and more recent incidents.
Detective Constable Mark Griffin, who investigated the case, said: “I hope this verdict and sentence will go some way in helping the victims in this case come to terms with what happened to them.
“They have lived with this abuse for years and it took great courage on their part to report these incidents to us.
“We do take claims of sexual offences seriously and will do all that we can to help bring offenders to justice, no matter how long ago the offence took place.”
